Life and death
What you decide to share with anyone is entirely up to your discretion.
Just know this, not everyone has the capacity to secure your best interest. Only you have your own best interest at heart, and very possibly a small handful of heart folks.
Experience is a great teacher, in my opinion. I’ve seen how knowledge and information either positive or negative gives people a sense of power.
What they do with that power is oftentimes the interesting thing. Gossip, inform or just learn?
I present unfortunately, too many would gossip and oftentimes wrongly inform. The elect few are mindful enough to learn and use knowledge to effect change.
Web of Destruction
There is just something about tearing down others which subconsciously or consciously gives people a feeling of empowerment? Not sure if that is the right word, but it creates a destructive turbine effects which does not stop until it kills, steals or destroys.
Being mindful of people, friends, and family members…their secrets and sometimes carelessly shared information, and just information in general is important in maturity.
The power of life and death is in your hands or rather your tongue, so use it wisely and mindfully.
You do not need to tear another person down, regardless of what they’ve done to you or another. Know the forces with which you are dealing and either stay engaged or disengage. Leave it at that.
When you build up it creates the kind of energy in this world you oftentimes can’t see immediately, but it’s there…in the smiles on faces, new beginnings, lightness in a step, giving, hope, rewards , physical wellness, emotional and psychological outlook.
Change your outlook/perspective and change your life
Everything around you looks promising and you can cope with changes. You seek to go outdoors engage more and more with real people who are experiencing life, not synthetic dreams on social media. You are unique and purposeful, therefore you live as such, and it’s not necessary to speak negativity into anything, much less another person’s life.

Came across this really beautiful ad in Instagram this morning and felt compelled to share…
Words of wisdom for us all to live by. To stop and ask these questions each day for the rest of our lives. Just being mindful for ourselves and others. Just think of the type of changes we can effect in this world. Happy Sunday

Now that the gruesome summer heat has subsided somewhat I’ve resumed my walking once again. Walking is absolutely hands down, one of my greatest passions. It’s not limbo so it’s quite easy. Don my walking clothes and I’m out the door.
Even though I’m musing while I’m walking. I do have a health app active on my phone which keeps tabs on my heart rate, peds per day, stairs climbed and distances or miles walked.
I check it daily and try to improve on the previous day. Sometimes however it’s just important for me to get out, get some good old vitamin D and walk.
I walk and I muse about everything. The soca, calypso, and reggae music in my ears beating out all the weeks and months events and helping me to synchronize my thoughts into some new thing for the next post or musing.
Sometimes I write them and let them marinate for weeks. These are the ones which I go back and add tempo and more notes to enhance and enrich the readers experience.
My one hope is you enjoy the full experience of my walking. Not only does it improve my health, physical and mental well being, but it creates this great venue for relationship and exchange of ideas We’ve found with each other.

I’m not a big shopper, but I love nice things, especially nice shoes. As a woman I think it’s important for my feet to look JustFab so I’ve made a few investments on this awesome site so I hope you do too and use my email as your reference so I can get my 20.00 referral just for having others join up. Use my referral link JusyFab referral
Please remember to remind
It’s so important to do like I do and remind yourself each month when your boutique is happening. If you don’t need that shoe or style that month, it’s important you waive it for that month. Next month you will decide if you want to waive it again and again until you see a show or style you like, then you are charged the 39.95 fee for your shoe of choice and it is shipped.
For your boutique you are charged according to what styles you choose and elect to ship. Have fun!!!
Social media fitness – The Rising
We get on maybe once or twice per day, check for likes, comments, browse news, videos, local events and sometimes just current events affecting the world.
It may be a few minutes for some but I know for me it’s an exercise in fitness. Why do I say that? I am always reading, thinking and trying to improve myself. Social Media allows me to control what I want and what I don’t want.
I can add friends, groups and businesses of my choosing. Select my pictures that are not so perfect but puts a smile on my face because of the memories. Share anecdotes with those in my circle and not be appalled by any of their content and vice versa. The filters are amazing.
I also have an agenda when it comes to social media. I’m not on to twerk, display nudity, be an embarrassment to myself or my community, and especially not to be cursing, swearing or being completely wayward for the sake of being wayward.
My community is Caribbean from Trinidad and Tobago and thus I embrace my African self wholeheartedly and everyone in the African diaspora.
It is my utmost endeavor daily to build an alliance of people and businesses to advance the existing state of Africans in the diaspora. The plan is wide but realistic.
The fitness aspect involves looking critically at myself and figuring out how to integrate my plans with those who have like endeavors. Networking is huge and thus the reason social media is so critical.
I cannot reinvent the wheel but I can certainly affect the way the wheel rotates, especially if spinning around in circles without creating positive change is all it’s doing.
I’m looking for real change across the diaspora, with real people who understand that we are significant regardless of the mantra of the past four hundred years. We had worth and value before, during and after our captured state.
Now is time for us to regain ourselves as a whole. We can’t leave anyone behind. When I say that I mean we have to create the organizations to relate to all the differences, dialects, languages, etc. in order for us to make it. We cannot be selfish but rather we must be our brothers keeper. I know there will be lost causes, but we still have to take the two steps forward approach, try and try different approaches, hand the mantle of this model to a new generation and watch it transform our reality into something amazing.
This is what scares people. Africans in the diaspora becoming socially, economically and financially conscious. This rising will be the downfall of too many economies to be comfortable but it will build the African consciousness, respect and finances. So, what do we do? We rise like our great Mother Maya Angelo would say.
I love social media!! Period!
The sheer ability to reach out to family, friends, long lost classmates, and even complete strangers who happen to share similar interests, over great distances, oceans, and even continents. I don’t know what advances have been made in space because I haven’t reviewed any NASA information. But, I will be soon since the very idea of being able to send instant message to space is revolutionary.
While I know there are negatives- it can be time consuming, even disrupt interaction With real relationships in our lives. Some even spend so much time on social media, they have no real relationship. Others spend time filtering themselves so you really have no idea what’s real and what’s not.
Positives and Balance
But, it is important for me to highlight the positives and emphasize a balance can be met. Definitely!
Really? Yes, Really!!
I do not start my day with Social Media. That’s my biggest positive. When I open my eyes each day my praise and attention goes to my Higher Power…acknowledging and thanking God for my life, my love ones and all my blessings.
Secondly, I take care of myself, preparing myself for my day, getting chores done etc. if my chores aren’t done, I don’t reward myself with social media.
Thirdly, I take breaks from social media just to reboot, get perspective and just have me time. It may be a week or a few months. Depends how I feel. From time to time I may skip a couple days.
Lastly, social media isn’t all that important for me to disconnect from real people, real conversations and connections. I make a point to enjoy real life daily and not to have technology be all consuming . As Marshall McLuhan author of “Understanding Media” points out in the first chapter of his book :
Beyond what we think we are doing with technologies like smartphones, there is also the reality of what is happening to us when we use them. In short, what happens to us is the social message. This social “message” is also being sent to us at the same time as we use our devices for other purposes. We may not be initially aware of what is happening and how society is changing. But, over time, the social effects of the new technology seep, at least partially, into social awareness. Usually, this happens as older people point out to the younger ones how social habits have changed in their lifetime.
I’m a loner by nature who loves people. Abit of an oxymoron. But that’s my reality. I’m not a social person but I can be when called to be.
